Booking the right Lake District wedding photographer for you

Booking your wedding photographer is a massively important part of the wedding preparations for many of our clients. In many cases after the confetti has settled, the cake has been cut and the dress has been put away carefully in the loft, apart from your memories and your rings, the only thing you will have left to remind you of the romance, joy and emotion of your day will be your photos and wedding album.

If you are getting married in Cumbria or the Lake District, when you book your wedding photographer, we believe that it is essential that you understand that how they get on with you both as a couple and fit in with your requirements will have a huge impact on your day.

That’s why, Lorraine Oates at Powder and Paint Photography understands that booking the right wedding photographer for your Lake District wedding can sometimes be a difficult decision – after all, there are lots of different things to think about! In many cases Lorraine's input is very often much more than just as photographer being paid to do a job. Her and her assistant, do this week-in, week-out and frequently the camera is on the floor whilst Lorraine is helping to do up the brides dress, fastening fascinators or fine tuning the hats and her assistant is fastening cuff-links or attaching buttonholes!

Consequently, our biggest piece of advice for booking your wedding photographer is to make sure that you can get on with them easily and that they understand exactly what you want to achieve from your wedding photography and the type and style of images you require.

To do this though, ideally you need to meet your photographer before you book them. This is why we offer a complimentary no-obligation consultation for you at our Dalton-in Furness studio.

This is great opportunity for you to tell us about your wedding plans, leaf through our sample albums/books and view examples of our work. It also allows you to ask us as many questions as you wish and discuss which of our packages is best suited to capturing your big day.

If, after this initial consultation, you decide that you would like to book us, a £250 deposit will secure your booking and our services. Within a few days you will then receive a confirmation letter with the details of your package and our wedding photography contract for you to sign.
